s havoc on Austrian goal!

Turkey powered in four goals againts the home side Austria. Three came from boro star, Tuncay Sanli. To be honest, Austria played much better than us in the first 30 minutes, they attacked fast and finally got the breakthrough on the 28th minute. Volkan thought that hoezl was going to controll the ball but headed the ball straight away, the ball went over Volkan and the Austrians were celebrating. Then we cut the celebration’s short as great play from Mehmet Aurelio and Kazim Richards put the ball in the net on the 38th minute. The goals didnt stop as a freekick from Sabri Sarioglu found Gokhan Zan’s head and Tuncay Sanli full volleyed the ball at goal on the 41st minute. Half Time soon came and Turkey were on offensive straight away. Mehmet Yildiz was subbed for Halil Altintop as Mehmet played absolutely crap. On the 47th minute Sabri Sarioglu passed the ball to Halil who was waiting just outside the box, he passed to Tuncay who made the run and chipped the keeper with a brilliant shot. Austria pulled one back with a superb top corner shot from outside the box. Turkey then made the comeback out of bounds as Kazim Richards struck the bar from side on and rebounded to Tuncay who then struck the bar, Hakan Balta tryed to shoot but then was blocked and then Tuncay took the ball and chipped the keeper again. I was laughing so much as i saw two Turkish fans run on the pitch with Turkish flags, one of them went up to Nuri Sahin and started talking to him like he was his buddy. I would like to say that TRT 1 is the S***est football airing company ever.

————–Halil————–Mevlut——

Turkey will look to seal another 3 points and hope that Belgium will loose so that we can go second.

My Prediction: 4-1
I feel that Turkey will score alot of goals this match, i also feel that Estonia will score a dead ball situation as the idiot Volkan will concede obveiously.

s Back :D

The match started with Turkey pressing on the Bosnian goal. All of Turkeys attacks in the first half were played down the right side with Sabri and Kazim Kazim 1-2 passing. The attacks ended with sabri eventually crossing it in the box while the Bosnian defence kept on clearing the ball. Bosnia made the breakthrough because of a stupid mistake by Volkan Demirel, he left his goal on a Bosnian cross and Dzeko headed the ball past him on the 27th minute.

On the second half, Batuhan Karadeniz was substitued off for Nuri Sahin after he dislocated his arm. Turkey were pressing and there was a scare for the Bosnians as a scuffle on the line ended with Arda Turans misplaced volley landed on the Bosnians arm but the referee did not see it. The breakthrough for Turkey finally came in the 51st minute when Sabri Sarioglu’s free kick cross was accidently headed in by Dzeko. Turkey continued to press and was eventually awarded another long range freekick, Sabri Sarioglu crossed the ball again and was headed by Servet Cetin, the keeper saved the shot but was rebounded and Mevlut headed the ball into a open goal, his first for his country. Ayhan Akman came off for Halil Altintop and it was a good substitute as Halil had quick fire shots but Kenin Hasagic proved to be a worthy goalkeeper saving all his shots.

Terim Sorry for tense behaviour

The Turkish national football team coach, Fatih Terim, has apologized for his behavior towards Belgium’s Rene Vandereycken during the two team’s World Cup qualifying group game last Wednesday.

Terim responded to what he called an “abusive gesture” by the Belgian, by making a gesture of his own and walking towards him, before being stopped by the fourth official. In another incident during the game, which eventually ended 1-1, the Turkish coach also kicked the ball to the Belgium bench as a reaction to Vandereycken’s throwing a ball on the pitch.

Speaking to a Lig TV reporter before the Galatasaray-Antalyaspor game, Terim said that he regretted being in a tense situation like that.

“Thinking about the incident after the game, I should not have been provoked by a coach whose career is so unremarkable,” he said. “Whatever he did, even if I was right, I should not have acted so tense. I admit that I made a mistake there.”

He added, “I owe an apology to my coaching staff, to my players, and especially the football fans, but ultimately, I owe myself an apology. An experienced coach like that should not have been let to be drawn into provocation.”

The Turkish boss was involved in another quarrel last week, when he was alleged to call sports writer Osman Tamburacı on the telephone and then swear at him, following the columnist’s comments on a television channel. But Terim was not in such an apologetic mood towards Tamburacı, who has filed a lawsuit about the situation.

“I won’t back down on that case, because the situation has a past,” he said, admitting that he said those words on the phone. “I will not say “I didn’t say that,’ but he is not telling the whole story. That is a personal issue.”

Terim jokingly added that he did good to Tamburacı.

“I did huge favor for him,” he said. “No one was reading his stories, or listening to his comments, but in a few days he became popular.”

s blazing performance

The match started boring nothing really happening, Semih got the first shot in the game and the keeper hung onto the ball very well. Armenia managed a long range shot and Volkan stretched alot. Turkey proceeded to attack but were unsucessful in hitting the target, Mevlut nearly opened the scoreline twice when defensive errors allowed him to be one on one with the keeper who denied one shot whilst the other flew past the post.

The second half began and turkey were rejuvenated.Kazim Kazim came on for Mevlut and was energetic going forward an amazing performance from him from the moment he was on the pitch untill the very end. Emre crossed the ball into the box and the Armenian defender headed it back and Kazim got the ball. I think you all know what happens next :) . Kazim passed the ball and Tuncay Şanli fired home with a close range shot. In the next few minutes Turkey was given a freekick on the side of the box, Arda fired a powerful curling shot and narrowly missed the goal. It was obvious that Turkey wasnt settling for 1-0 as predicted by Goal.com. In the 79th minute Turkey recieved a corner, Mehmet Aurelio headed the ball back to Semih who was brilliantly positioned and concentrating he touched the ball with his left foot and the keeper watched the ball hit the net. There werent many attacks by Armenia at this point. Turkey carried on attacking and got on a counter-attack. Ayhan Akman decided to go solo and blasted the ball at goal but was denied by the goal keeper a bad decision in my opionion as 3 other turkish players were waiting in the box.

Turkey are now top of group 5 with 3 points

Crescent Star and Victory

This is my first post on the World cup blog and i hope you like it. Let me introduce myself, you can call me Kidturk, I support Fenerbahce SK with all my heart and i know they will do better this year. Most of you know that Turkey is playing tommorow againts Armenia and all of you know that Turkey is the favourite for this match. I support Turkey with all my heart and im going to give you a look back in history when Turkish football actually started. Hope you like the Vids.

I will try to find the lineups soon.

Today is a very sad day in the football world.

My dear friends, I have some very disappointing and heart breaking news to bear. Today on the 5th of July, 2008, the beloved Turkish football federation president, Hasan Dogan passed away as a result of a sudden and massive heart attack. He was 52 years old.

Hasan Dogan came to power only a few months ago and was immediately loved by all. He jumpstarted programs to improve the infrastructure of some of the smaller anatolian teams and worked hard to develop the Turkish youth soccer academies. He brought a feeling of goodwill and cooperation between the many clubs of the league and can be credited with the bridging of the many gaps between the big three clubs.

Before Hasan Dogan, referees in Turkey were widely considered corrupt and lacking in quality. After Hasan Dogan, the quality of Turkish referees was considered to be better than many European referees. However Hasan Dogan was special in other ways as well. He stood for a drastic change from the old inefficient adminstration and was loved by all fans of football, no matter what team they supported. I have never heard one word of disdain or even criticism against him.

Hasan dogan leaves behind his wife and two children. May he rest in peace. Merhuma Allah’tan rahmet, kederli ailesi ve Türk futbol camiasına başsağlığı dilerim.
